Description:

The path that from Primaluna goes up along a forest road to the Riva refuge is extremely simple and suitable for all people,but especially for families with small children,given the little difficulty.

The start is located in Primaluna,a small town in Valsassina, following the provincial road we will arrive in Primaluna that we will almost have to overcome in fact almost at the end of the town where we will find the signs for a Carrefour in via Caraletta we will have to turn into this street to the left of the provincial road.

We will continue along this road until its end where we will find a roundabout and an iron bridge passable only on foot.

Here we will park on the sides of the road and leave for the shelter.

We arrive at the roundabout where we also find a wooden bulletin board, we will overcome a little bridge and we will arrive along the Valsassina cycle path that we will leave immediately following the signs for the refuge and following a cobblestone road that goes up to some farmhouses.

We will follow this road past the cascine, we will overcome during this initial part of the climb also the headquarters of the Alpini group of Primaluna.

Slowly we will start to gain meters in altitude always following this forest road, the slopes are always very slight and the road going up with many hairpin bends allows us to rest and do little effort.

During the ascent we will meet some huts located here and we could admire the beauty of the grigne group.

After about 1h we will arrive at Alpe Piattedo (900 m.a.s.l.) here the path will be divided into two parts,on the right towards the valley of the mills and the path of the beech trees,while keeping the left we will continue to climb to the Riva refuge.

The slopes increase slightly but the most has now been done, we will walk the last 15 ' of ascent until we reach the Riva refuge,from which we can admire the Valsassina in all its splendor, a moment before the refuge on the right comes off a path that will continue until the church of San Calimero.
