Description:

The climb from Rifugio dei forni to Rifugio Branca is suitable for all ages from the youngest to the oldest.

We will have to face about 317 m of altitude difference on a small dirt road, traveled only by the rifugio.

The start of the route is from the lower parking of the Forni, once parked we will not have to climb up to the irfugio dei forni but continue until the end of the parking lot from where a short path begins towards a small dam located near the parking lot.

After about 100m, we will turn on left following a small path that in about 2' of ascent will rejoin the dirt road that goes up from the Forni shelters to the Branca.

The path will begin to climb with slight slopes, overcoming a small wooden bridge and continuing towards the Branca refuge.

Slowly the forest of firs and larches will thin out leaving room for rocky ruins and we will enter more and more towards the valley of the forni.

We are slowly approaching the refuge but it will never be visible from the path as it is hidden behind a rock.

The last meters before reaching the refuge are the hardest of the entire route,the slopes are remarkable, especially on some hairpin bends of the climb,but nevertheless, although hard this stretch is short in the blink of an eye we reach the refuge.

From the refuge it is possible to admire in all its majesty the Forni glacier.
