Description:
The trail that we are going to describe, is one of the best and most famous of Livigno, all on singletrail with beautiful downhill and amazing landscape. The starting point of this trail is located along the bicycle path of Livigno, in case we have to park our car, it's suggested at the cableway's park of the Mottolino. Once on bike, we have to follow the bicycle path for almost 4 km in flat, till the Ristoro Alpisella, it's also suggested to supply the bottle of water thanks to the lots of fountain.
Once we will reach the Ristoro alpisella, we will surpass a little wodd bridge and on the right of the refuge, it will begin the climb to the Alpisella Pass. The first part is quite hard, with hard slope, but it's short. In this first part the grip of the wheel is quite difficult.
After this first part we will follow a part of the climb with low slope for almost 2/3 km till we will reach a little wood bridge that we will cross not on bike.
After the bridge it will start the hardest part of the climb with high slope, > 20%, we will find few hairpin, but the heviest slope doesn't allow us to rest a little. This hard part is lenght almost 2km. This part ends after we will leave the wood, the slope becomes easier than before and we will the Alpisella Pass as soon as possibile.
Once we will reach the Alpisella pass, it will start the first downhill to the Cancano's Lakes, we have two possible choice: the first we will follow a large trail as a dirt road, easy and without any problem, the second is to follow the indication for "Sorgenti dell'Adda" and we will take a beautiful singletrail that we will arrive also at Cancano's Lakes, but with a trail more funny and harder than the dirt road, but it's also quite easy and not so difficult.
At the end of this first downhill we will reach Cancano's Lakes, and we have to turn on right and follow the dirt road till we arrive at a little bridge with two hut, next to it. Here we will find the indication for Alpe Trela, we have to turn on right and start the climb till Trela pass. In case we will not start the climb immediatly, we can do the tour of the lakes, it's a ring of almost 15km, quite flat.
Once we will take the trail for Trela, we will start the hardest climb of all the tour; the first part of the climb is quite simple, the slope is low and we will cross little river, however ,after cross the little river, it will start the hardest part, the slope is high and we have not so much grip with wheels and we slide, if you are not fit and you have not an Ebike, it's possible that you can not do this part on bike.
After almost 1km of this climb the hardest part will end and we will follow a flat trail that conduct us to the Alpe Trela, the landscape will change, from a cloase valley we will enter in larger valley full of meadows.
Once we will reach the Alpe Trela, the climb is not over, and we will start another hard part, not so difficult like the first, but quite hard, we will follow a beautiful singletrail that in almost 20' bring us to the Trela pass. The pass is located at 2300 m.s.l.m and even in summer we can find bad weather, even snow.
From the pass it will start an amazing downhill, 13 km of singletrail, very flow and funny.
At the end of this downhill we will next to Livigno, but the tour is not over, in fact we have to do another short climb, very short and not difficult and than we will take another beautiful downhill, not long as from Trela pass, but quite fun and very flow.
Pay attention, the last meters of this downhill are easy but we will reach the Bycile path again, and we take care not to clash with other bike or people that walk along the bycicle path.
